Warby Parker 2016 collections

Every idea starts with a problem... for Warby Parker their problem was that glasses are too expensive. If you wear glasses you will know the hole a new pair of frames leaves in your pocket, I actually went without glasses for a long while myself, after breaking my frames (by sitting on them, I must embarrassingly add) and not wanting to invest in another pair...

The people at Warby Parker did their research and found that the eyewear industry is dominated by a very few large companies, that have been able to keep prices high between them as customers have no where else to go.
The solution? Designing glasses in-house and engaging with customers directly to provide higher-quality, better-looking prescription eyewear, at a price that won't make you cringe.

The most important things to know about Warby Parker as a company (apart from their contemporary frames)?

  • Each frame is crafted from premium acetate, sourced from a family-run Italian factory.

  • You can choose up to five frames you like and they will mail you a box of frames to try on, with free shipping both ways; just select the Home Try-On option before checking out!

  • They also believe that everyone has the right to see: "Almost one billion people worldwide lack access to glasses, which means that 15% of the world’s population cannot effectively learn or work. To help address this problem, Warby Parker partners with non-profits like VisionSpring to ensure that for every pair of glasses sold, a pair is distributed to someone in need."

There’s nothing hidden or complicated about it, an honest company, with good designs, good morals and good prices.

Their new Windsor Spring Collection (that launches today and is limited edition) features a new range of frames with the ultra-distinctive Windsor rim construction.
The new collection includes expressive new colours that feel fun, take inspiration from the circus and are on trend for this SS16.

The 'Sun collective' is also now available, starting at $95, classics have been refreshed with brand-new lens shapes. The silhouettes remain unchanged, but each interior contour has been reshaped for bolder, more graphic proportions. The good news? The frames fit just the same. More good news? They are also Limited edition, so get your hands on them quick and have something unique.
